Quiet Memorial Day... which is okay, since my week was crazy. The craziest thing? My nephew was born yesterday- three months early. He is 2lb 6oz and in NICU, but appears to be doing well. I am so excited to go meet him in a little bit!

So... today I have a raging headache... but at least I'm having a good hair day... I'll take it where I can. These are from Wednesday. Embracing the grandma skirt even though I'm a shorty.

So I've been on the hunt for a new chambray shirt for a long time... a very long time. Years ago, before they were popular, I happened across one super cheap at Old Navy. It was like, $3. So I bought it. I didn't wear it for months, then, all of a sudden, I started wearing it constantly. Its now a wardrobe staple for me, but mine is slowly dying a death of a well-loved piece of clothing. I've needed to replace it for ages.
But, hey, I'm cheap, and they cost around $25 everywhere. So I've put it off. I'm always checking at Goodwill but never came across anything that didn't have apples or snowmen embroidered on it. My mom found a cute one the other day, at Walmart of all places, so I went to get one. I didn't find the one she bought, but I did find this one. A light, soft denim color, with brass studs at the collar... I think I like it!
And that is my long tale of the Chambray shirt. Might I also add that people, some days, annoy me. I was in my yard taking my photos- yes. I had a tripod. Yes, I look sort of silly. But this guy was walking his dog, and on his phone and decided to stop RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY YARD to watch and talk on his phone. Dude, I feel goofy enough. Stop making this downright awkward. People. Gosh.

This is my absolute favorite flowering tree(shrub?) in the springtime. I've never taken the time to identify it (although I should! I used to be a flower/tree identifying nerd.) but it makes a gorgeous backdrop for photos, no?
I'm starting to think about things like packing for 8 months in Australia... what to take etc. Thinking through items that will mix, match and pack well. I think this dress may be a contender. Long, soft and super comfy, I'm pretty sure I could switch it up several different ways. (although I was definitely lazy on Wednesday with this outfit. Just a cardi, earrings and simple flats. But it was a tired day, ya know?)

So, today is Friday. It's a welcome day off for me, as I work tomorrow. A day to wear comfy pants (I call these my Fun-Pants, yes Michael Scott, that's a nod to you and old-school The Office)
A day to get some organizing and things planned out for fundraisers and just life.
A moment to put a slouchy hat and boots back on, since Ohio has again, presented us with cold weather.
But mostly, today is a time to pray for a very dear friend. One of my close friends recently found out that her cancer is back, and today I received a text from my best friend/her sister-in-law that she has been care-flighted to her hospital for emergency surgery for blood on her brain.
Please, please pray with me friends. Pray for her and her husband. Pray that God would do something miraculous, and that he would grant them as much strength, peace and understanding as they need. Pray for their family as well, as they are like MY second family and are trying to trust God and be strong.
